Mr. YOSHI Shiraishi

Yoshi FW Magazine photoGraduated and received a degree in Architecture from Musashino Art University in 1982, and worked as Project Designer at Nomura Co., Ltd. In 1987, he joined Walker Group/CNI, a top design firm in the United States, where he was the first Asian to be promoted to Vice President.

Mr. Shiraishi established “Yoshi Design New York Co., Ltd.” in 1996, with the design philosophy of combining the beauty and modern essence of New York with the wisdom of Japan. It is a design style that harmonizes nature (“WA”), form, and function into elegant simplicity to appeal to the global market.
He has been introduced to NHK National Broadcasting’s “Cool Japan” and Fuji TV’s “City Wiz” as the innovative designer in New York, and has been featured in many magazines and newspapers, including “The New York Times.” His projects include Retail Complexes, Public Spaces, Hotels, Restaurants, Showrooms/Offices, Residential Spaces, Furniture Design, and a sketch collection themed “Architecture and Nature.”

Mr. Shiraishi has been involved in projects in more than ten (10) countries, and has traveled to more than fifty (50) countries. One of his recent projects in Tokyo, “Marunouchi Brick Square,” has been a big success since its opening in September 2009. As Principal of “Yoshi Development New York,” he is now developing a “Japanese Style Boutique Hotel” and a “New Lifestyle Condominium” in New York.
